Peckham takes on NAPA’s Midyear Meeting in Brooklyn, NY.
Earlier this week the Peckham members Meghan Meyer and Rocco Circosta had the opportunity to speak at NAPA’s Midyear Meeting in Brooklyn, NY alongside Cargill’s Steve Haughton. Peckham and Cargill have been strategic partners for several years and have worked together on a variety of innovative projects. The focus of this presentation was a 2021 40% RAP project completed for the City of Yonkers and to highlight the benefits of using high RAP mixes in our local communities to our fellow industry members and key stakeholders. In 2021, Peckham’s goal during this project was to deliver value to Yonkers residents, taxpayers, and the traveling public with a more cost-effective and sustainable road that performs just as well or better than traditional asphalt. At Peckham’s Bronx plant, the QC team developed a 12.5 mm HMA mix design consisting of 40% RAP. Peckham partnered with Cargill and used their Anova 1815 Rejuvenator in the mix design due to the high RAP content. Using this high RAP mix, a portion of Kimball Ave in Yonkers was paved. Today, the project is still performing well. Special thanks to Meghan, Rocco, and Steve for helping spotlight this project and the value that our industry provides to local communities and economies.
